Lodging In Laramie
Friday night isn’t just for checking into the race at the Pedal House, Friday nights in Laradise is for food, drink, and mingling with the locals. A few of the attractions we have to offer are the local farmers market, live music at Born in a Barn, a tour of our downtown murals, and shopping in our historic downtown. We know you need your rest so after you explore our home town check into one of our fine local hotels or motels and get a good nights rest. They have comfy beds, fluffy pillows, and Wyoming has plenty of sheep to count too.
Camping at the race site
Primitive camping is available at the start/finish. Port-a-potties are available beginning Thursday evening. There is no water on site, except during the race.
Do your best to stay in the area shown on the map below. If you camp outside of the area shown, you must be within 100 feet of an open system road.
Developed Campgrounds
There are four campgrounds near the start/finish.
Tie City Campground (6 miles west in Happy Jack)
Yellowpine Campground (6 miles west in Happy Jack)
Vedauwoo Recreation Area Campground (15 miles south of the start/finish)
All three National Forest campgrounds have water, picnic benches and outhouses. It's a good idea to check on the status of Forest Service campgrounds around Laramie. They don't tend to be consistently open or have reliable, nor potable water.
Curt Gowdy State Park (9 miles east on WY 210) has campgrounds with water, picnic benches and outhouses along with a visitor center with showers.
